Description

This color photograph shows Painting and Sculpture (1774/1778) by Jean Pierre Antoine Tassaert which is on display at the National Gallery Of Art in Washington DC. Having caught my eye because of children with severed heads, the sculpture made more sense to me after thinking about the name and realizing that one of the children is holding brushes while the other is holding a hammer and chisel.
A slightly modified, black and white version of this photograph is also available.
