Description
This color photograph looks down into a worm box where the copper worm of this moonshine still is visible. Fresh water from the cool mountain stream provides the cooling for the worm. A small overflow hole at the top lets the water flow out keeping the water in the box cool. The top of the thump keg is visible on the right side of the photograph. Someone has placed some rope on top of the keg. The cap arm is visible coming from the top of the thump keg and traveling to the right where it connects to the still cap, just outside the photograph.
Located deep in the woods in the mountains of Western North Carolina, the fall leaves are visible on the ground and in the wooden flume which brings water to the worm box.
A black and white version of Worm Box and Thump Keg is also available.
Worm Box and Thump Keg was photographed by Greg Mimbs
