Taken just before sunrise, this color photograph shows Neptune Fountain in front of the Thomas Jefferson Building of The Library of Congress along First Street, SE in Washington DC. The horses, sea nymphs and the sea god are mostly lit by the lights of the fountain and the street lamps and building lights nearby, however the morning sky is beginning to lighten up as the sun nears sunrise providing a gentle, but noticeable addition to the area lights.
A black and white version of Neptune Fountain is also available.
